A monument in the Boston Common commemorates the first American soccer team, which played its games there in the 1860s. It played against "all comers" and its goal was crossed "not once," the inscription says. The ball used was made by Charles Goodyear and is exhibited in the US National Soccer Hall of Fame.

The Boston Celtics easily beat the Los Angeles Lakers last night at the Garden for their 17th NBA Championship. The city celebrated all night and reporter Mallory Hoff was there and captured on video some of the evening's sights and sounds.

A beautiful stretch of the Charles was colored by exotic stalls, scents of world food, cultural performances and fun without age limits! Hundreds of people strolled in and out of the cozy tent-lined river bank and lounged on the grass listening to country, folk and bossa nova. Kids got their face painted, moms had their backs rubbed and dads lined up at the BBQ stalls. Watch our slideshow and video package.

The Apple store on Boylston Street, a glassy, glow-in-the-dark, 20,000 square foot building, didn't wind up in one of Boston's most historic areas without opposition. While some residents feel the building disrupts the neighborhood's old time charm, others believe the store is a sign of an evolving city.
